International Master Class Hapkido Seminar 2011 Europe - Netherlands

The weekend of  April 9 & 10, 2011,  the first European Hapkido Master Class was given by Korean Hapkido Grandmaster Hong Sik Myung 9th dan. The event was organized by the Nederlandse Hapkido Bond. 



The Chairman , Martin Zingel and Vice Chairman Pierre van Bentum of the Nederlandse Hapkido Bond, had the honor of opening this master class taught by the highest ranking WHH (World Hapkido Headquarters - Hapkidowon) grandmaster in the world, Grandmaster Myung. Hapkido started in Korea during the late 1950's . GM Hong Sik Myung is one of the few (living) Hapkido masters with over 50 years experience and is able to provide the unique experience of  Hapkido instruction in it's pure form.



This rare event was held in a gymnasium where Anton Geesink, the deceased legend taught Judo, and held a special significance. The master class seminar held in its attendance Hapkido masters from different countries including Georgia, Germany, and the Netherlands to receive instruction under Grandmaster Myung.   Master Avtandil Mikadze from Georgia and Master Salvatore Tiso from Germany were quoted as saying that they were very impressed by the special skills and techniques demonstrated by Grandmaster Hong Sik Myung.  Even as masters, many had never seen these kinds of techniques before.  It was agreed by Master Salvatore Tiso and Grandmaster that the next master class seminar should held in Germany at the end of November 2011. This valuable training in the Korean martial art of Hapkido was well received and quite impressive to all of the masters in attendance.



Grandmaster Hong Sik Myung, issued special certificates of participation to all of the Masters attending the seminar.  In addition, Master Zingel was honored with a special award for his dedication, and propagation of the art of Hapkido in the Netherlands.
