A FORMER British taekwondo champion who has helped teach the ancient art to underprivileged children in Chalvey is branching out to Britwell.

Lennox Carty, British champion in the 80s and 90s, is trialling his popular Survivors Taekwondo Club classes at Britwell Boys' Club, in Wentworth Avenue.

He is running classes throughout the Easter holidays, with sessions from 1-2.30pm on Monday (8) and Wednesday (10) and from 2.30-4pm on Friday (12).

Sessions cost £3 and each child will receive a certificate. Children are advised to dress in a track suit or loose clothing and wear trainers.

Mr Carty started the club in Chalvey in 2011. It meets from 6-7.30pm at The Hangout, in The Green.

The internationally-acclaimed poet, who has worked with the BBC to write a poem for The Queen's 80th birthday, will also run a poetry competition in the session, with prizes for the best poems.
